Since the UK Tourism Minister, John Penrose, announced the government’s strategy for growing tourism over the next couple of years, hoteliers have been scratching their heads as to how they can implement the vision at a grassroots level.

Penrose’s strategy is to exploit forthcoming events including the Royal Wedding, the Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. While the government’s focus clearly aims to drive inbound tourism to the UK, most hoteliers would do well to concentrate on driving business from within the UK holiday market.
